The Paperclip Challenge - AI edition
About The Project. A few weeks ago, Simon Willison posted about his first impressions of Dall-e 2. Simon’s twitter has long been a mix of delightful programming stories and cute animal content, so it wasn’t surprising that this write up was filled with adorable animal-themed prompts. I took the prompts from this write up, and fed them into GPT-3 to get a list of ‘Simon Willison-like Dall-e searches’, which included results such as these:

Raccoons and still life paintings of fruit were disproportionately represented, but nonetheless many of these were very Simon prompts. So much so, that Simon agreed to try a Dall-e search with one! I present: ‘A still life of a bowl of fruit with a raccoon reaching in for a grape.’
These were so cute! There are some funny things going on with the hands in most of them, but tbh I can’t draw hands very well either. Nevertheless, I tried my best to do a recreation of the cute one with the pear, and this was the result:
